Privacy Policy
UrPay Technologies Pty Ltd · ABN 18 654 788 575
Effective: 18 September 2026
UrPay Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 18 654 788 575), trading as UrPay (“UrPay”, “we”, “our”, “us”), is committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with the law.
This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information about individuals who deal with us — through this website, our platform, or otherwise.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If there is any inconsistency between this Policy and the Privacy Act, the Privacy Act prevails.
1. Anonymity
Because of the nature of payment services, it is generally impractical for us to deal with you without knowing your name and contact details. Where it is practical to do so, you may interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym — for example, when browsing this website.
2. Collecting personal information
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
We collect personal information:
- when you contact us by email, phone or post;
- when you apply for, or use, our products and services, including through the UrPay platform and applications;
- when you do business with us, or enquire about doing so; and
- through our other business activities.
The personal information we may collect includes:
- your name and contact details, including phone number, email and business or postal address;
- identity information and documents needed to verify you or your business when you apply for our services;
- payment and banking information relevant to your use of our services; and
- technical information relating to your use of our platform, such as IP address, browser type and log data.
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities.
3. Use of personal information
We use personal information to:
- establish and maintain our relationship with you;
- provide, manage and administer the products and services you have requested;
- verify your identity and the identity of your business;
- respond to enquiries and provide support;
- improve and develop our platform and services;
- tell you about our services, where you have consented or where the law permits (you may opt out at any time); and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Direct marketing
We may use your personal information to send you information about our products and services. We will only do so where you have consented, or where we have an existing relationship with you and the law permits it.
You can opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any message we send, or by contacting us at support@urpaytech.com.au.
5. Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose personal information to third parties only:
- to service providers who help us operate our business and deliver our services — for example payment processors and financial institutions, identity verification providers, and cloud, email and SMS providers — who may use it only for the purpose for which it was provided;
- where we are required or authorised to do so by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government or regulatory authority; or
- with your consent.
6. This website
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, does not set cookies, and does not load content from third-party services. If you email us using a link on this site, we receive the information you choose to send.
Like all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs (such as IP address, the page requested and the time) for security and operational purposes.
7. Overseas disclosure
Our platform’s primary database is hosted in Australia. Some of the service providers we use — for example for cloud computing, email and SMS delivery — may store or process information in other countries, including the United States.
Where personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Third-party websites
Our website and platform may link to websites operated by third parties. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
9. Protecting your personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include:
- technical measures protecting the systems and networks we use to store and transmit personal information;
- controls limiting staff and third-party access to personal information; and
- regular review of how we collect, store and process information.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, unless we are required to retain it by law.
10. Accessing and correcting your personal information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you by writing to support@urpaytech.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and either provide the information or explain why access is not available.
If you believe information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to correct it. If we decide not to, we will tell you why and how you can complain.
11. Data breaches
If we suspect that a data breach has occurred, we will assess it promptly and in any case within 30 days. Where a notifiable data breach has occurred, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals as required by the Privacy Act.
12. Complaints
If you have a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at support@urpaytech.com.au. We handle complaints in confidence and aim to respond within 30 days.
You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints or on 1300 363 992.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
